Mowing pavement

You would think in a country that rains all the time, plants wouldn’t grow as fast. But holy crap! Our garden has become a jungle in just a matter of weeks. I even had to mow all the plants/weeds in the cracks of our big cement patio. It’s pretty bad when you almost have to mow your driveway. I also had to charge up the weed-wacker again, because there were so many the battery even ran out.

The beer fest went great, didnt hit up the gaming fest this year cause it was really just a bunch of venders last year, it was nice doing something differant though. Me and my buddy were the only ones that drank at the beer fest, then walked around Cambridge hah. Had some pretty good beer which they were out of by 6pm. Even a decent coffee beer. Even ran into a plethora of guys from work there. Then the wife's had a girls night out while me and flint were at his place being stuck with the kid who was actually asleep the entire time. Haha until his wife came tumbling through the door speaking a 3ed language, which only 2 she knows.

So me and Jen like dinner partys now! Yay! Until they move and we have to make new friends L can always play LOTRO with em though!

Cheers!

Newegg wins again!!!

Its been just under a week, and my new video cards all ready here!!! W00t!!!! and holy crap is it huge. almost bigger then when I ran SLI's on my 3 year old card that just crapped out. Back when bad ass video cards were expensive. I love technology, They make such bad ass video cards now for just under $200 bucks, that no game pushes their limits. Now if your doing extreme rendering and creating in 3D programs that's something different. I dont think you can ever have a bad ass enough video card for rending.

So its in its now home!! and back to LOTRO!!! Bought my buddy flints his big ass house. Lets just say I found some common items that people LOVE buying that are really dirt cheap. And I resell them for 200X the price I payed lol. So i use that money to help my friends in game get stuff. Cambridge beer fest this weekend! and Nerd expo in London!!! Its also spontaneous Flowers for Jen day!!!! I bought the yellow ones but got the rest from the backyard =D YAY LOVE!!!!

Cheers mates!

If you dont stand behind our troops, your more than welcome to stand infront of them

With out saying to much, some guys from work will be playing in the sand for a bit. When I went, I know there are a lot of things I wish I did bring, and stuff I wish I didn't, that you could just get downrange. One of the biggest items I wish i brought, was more entertainment - like movies, shows etc... So for the past few days Ive been borrowing hard drives from my fellow airmen, and giving them a huge hook up with my DvD collection that I have "backed up" on my hard drives. I would recommend everyone who knows someone heading out - to help em pass the time, and share the wealth. There are awesome groups such as the USO who help out service members all over the world, with thousands of volunteers. But there's nothing better than a fellow co-worker helping you out directly.

Its going to be a LOTRO weekend for me! My buddy Flint at work is not into the game, along with Bill who brought me into the game. I study for the first time on Tuesday to see if I'll become Ssgt Steinbach. I feel comfortable with testing, I really don't know what to expect considering Ive never taken in, but I'll of course give it my best. And if I make it awesome! but if I don't, then I'll feel even more comfortable at least having some idea, rather than a shot in the dark, about what could be on the test, or how they flow.

Oh and sometime soon I should be getting my two front teeth crowned! This guy (Tim Mishay) from Jr High in Lisle, threw a trapper keeper under my foot, and my front two teeth were the first thing to hit the ground. Well after years of fault front teeth that would chip at least once a year. There was even a time in Highschool when I went to kiss my girlfriend at the time and completely cracked my tooth. lol I played it off and pretended it never happened. I tried to find him on facebook or something haha, couldn't find em, I'll need a yearbook.

Cheers!

Gaming 4 life!

Holy crap Vault is the cheapest and best energy drink ever. Ive had tons of red bull before and it doesn't get me like a vault does. Hows THAT for product placement.

Now Gaming 4 life.... that's right I made the big ass move.... $300 to play LOTRO 4 life! think about it, guys like my buddy Josh have paid about $720 for 4 years of gaming in WoW. 1st that's still cheap ass entertainment obvioulsy, being just 15 bucks a month than 100$ at the bar a month. Either way it well worth it for the enjoyment we get out of the game. Now I just have to get off my ass and do some more traveling!! its too easy to just sit back at home sometimes. Aparently LOTRO has a blogger they use where you can update your gaming habbits. Think I might do that instead of littering my blog with gaming benanderings.

Cheers!

About damn time - Lord of the Rings Online Game Review.

Lord Of the Rings Online - Keith's Game Review

It time for the massive LOTRO game review!! You can also read up on other smart ass game reviews with such games as World of Warcraft, Warhammer Online, Pirates of the Burning Sea, Eve Online, and Sword of the New World. (I couldn't find all my old links hah)

Every game has its strong points, Warhammer has an awesome variety of PvP options, more than any MMO I feel. WoW has the overall user friendly game on their side – such as anyone can truly just pick the game up without ever reading anything. However Lord of the Rings Online has its own field completely dominated, content.

I was never into the hole Lord of the Rings trilogy, sure the movies were cool, but I never went “OMG I cant wait till this comes out!”, I never even read the books, tried to though. However since I started playing I come to find that LOTRO isn’t even focusing around the “rings” mainly. I found out that the developers wanted to focus more on the book. So everything you didn’t see in the movies, you’ll see in the MMO. You meet actually every character in the book, with additional stories. And I’ll say this now… I rarely will ever read a quest; it’s safe to say I will always just skip to the bottom where it gets to the point… However, I will actually read the quest in Lord of the Rings, they’re enjoyable, have character, and are original. Even the map layouts are close replicas from the book. Think about it, developers were pretty much handed pure, premade gold of an epic story. So they had more time to make one hell of a badass PvE game, from content to the detail.

So I’m a sucker for detail, and a game like this is a huge turn on. That’s right, “Bow-Chicka-Bow-WoW” kind of turn on. When I say the graphics are good, I’m talking about “holy crap, is that a shadow from a leaf I see from a mile away” kind of good. Obviously MMO detail can’t be as crazy as “Gears of War” (yet). It would bog the hell out of your internet, and computer trying to process your information with everyone else’s, so you can see it all on time. However this game made everything equally beautiful. Not like games such as Guild Wars, where they make the armor nice, and crank the shiny effect to a million on the environment settings (besides its crazy low on content). Or games like WoW where even someone with a 486 could play, (I all ready went on my WoW rant, so I’m not gonna to touch that n00b fest). Hell LOTRO even makes fishing look badass.

Player housing is another genius idea, and I give it only one more expansion after “The Witch King” until WoW takes the idea and starts player housing. So in LOTRO you basically get rare drops off animals/bosses/during events etc.. These rare items are trophies you can put in your house, or some are the animal you killed, so you get it stuffed (a wolf trophy in our friends house, Jen the Hobbit is poking it). You can even get armor to hang on the walls from bosses you’ve killed. There are even Fellowship (Guild) houses you can buy which are massive, and every race has its own house style, I believe there are 3 different size house’s and the 4th being a guild house.

Now if you’re into roll playing, this game is easily the best to do it in. From the environment settings to the mass amount of emotes you can do for simple simple actions. Not to include the advanced music playing system withing LOTRO!! playing your favorite songs on whatever instrument in game. LOTRO-ABC.com so far I've found seem to be the best one.

I'm going to keep it simple and end it there, with the tons of pictures I've taken since in game. Were also playing with a RL friend of ours, Bill. Who also owns a lifetime account. More MMO's need to adapt the lifetime account idea. Its genious and cheap. Especially if your one of those people who have been playing WoW for almost 4 years now, and are about to hit a grand $ in total payments to Blizzard.

Cheers mates!
